Peak, Nonordinary and Ecstatic States Workshop (NonOrdinary Sensemaking Taster)

Free Zoom Event – This is an intro workshop for the NonOrdinary Sensemaking course starting July 18th.

We’ve all had them…those moments when life is ineffably different. The feeling of pure love while looking into the eyes of your partner or child, or the feeling of a separate self dissolving into the bliss of feeling oneness at a concert or while dancing. Perhaps it was experiencing an out-of-time flow state while deep in a project. Or a moment walking in nature when you feel deeply interconnected with all of life.

There has also been a rapidly growing adoption of state-altering use of psychedelics, sacred medicines, meditation, and tantra, giving us access to other experiences of reality, or opening us up to ecstatic states such as a life-electrifying kundalini awakening.

Often, our experiences are random, or they only happen with the aid of a substance, hours of meditation, or extreme activities…but what if you could access these states intentionally and use them in your everyday life? What if these experiences inform what is possible as humans in this reality and can help us to make sense of the world around us?

In this free intro we explore:

  • Four types of states and how you can identify when you are in them.
  • How these states can give us a greater understanding of what is happening in the world.
  • How these four states enhance each other.
  • Why peak states happen and why we don’t stay there.
  • What kinds of reactions, symptoms, or after-effects can happen.

Learn how Trish Blain’s Four Forces Framework and Edges Map can help you develop skills to cultivate, navigate and integrate these nonordinary states.

This is an intro workshop that will give a taste of what we are offering in the NonOrdinary Sensemaking course (and related trainings), and will include an opportunity for sharing and mapping your experiences for added understanding and insight.

The NonOrdinary Sensemaking course offered by Trish Blain and Alexander Beiner, starts July 18th — you can check out the course here.
